How do you use hot honey?
Honey is one of the most versatile ingredients in the kitchen, and chilli-infused honey is no exception. A drizzle of hot honey can instantly elevate a dish — which is why it has become a favourite in modern pizza kitchens, a standout addition to cheese boards, and even a bold upgrade to your morning toast for those who enjoy a little heat.
Beyond simply drizzling, chilli honey can also be used as a key ingredient in cooking. When combined with complementary flavours, it creates depth, balance and a memorable sweet-heat finish. Below, we share a selection of recipes that showcase just how transformative chilli-infused honey can be.

Is hot honey healthy?
Hot honey can be a healthier alternative to many processed sweet sauces, particularly when it is made with pure, unheated honey and a natural chilli infusion.
At its core, hot honey is simply honey with chilli added. As the base is a 100% pure honey — without added sugars, syrups or artificial flavourings — it retains the same natural properties as regular honey. Pure honey contains antioxidants, trace enzymes and naturally occurring sugars, and has been used traditionally as a natural sweetener for centuries.
The added chilli contributes capsaicin, the compound responsible for heat, which has been studied for its potential metabolic and anti-inflammatory properties. While hot honey should still be enjoyed in moderation due to its natural sugar content, it can be a more wholesome choice compared to highly processed sweet chilli sauces or sugary condiments.
As with any sweetener, balance is key — but when made with pure Western Australian honey and natural chilli, hot honey remains a simple, minimally processed ingredient.
