The House of Honey are thrilled to announce their latest accreditations as they strive towards a more Accessible and Inclusive future.
These accreditations administered by the Tourism Council WA recognise the House of Honey as a suitably accessible environment for people with limited mobility and low hearing.
As a tourism business that welcomes visitors from all over the world, The House of Honey are making it their mission to ensure that everyone is catered for when they visit their store. This has seen the business make significant changes – including the introduction of step-free access, spacious ramp and handrails, accessible deck, bright and colourful language board displaying the various languages of staff, to a Senior’s Day brunch and honey discount on Mondays.
In 2024, Accessibility and Inclusion has been a driving force behind their business strategy and is something owners Kim and Rupert Phillips are keen to continue investing in, in 2025.
Just last month, the team welcomed PWDWA for an Accessibility and Inclusion training course that guides staff on how to support guests with accessibility needs, which will be implemented to the onboarding process of all new starters.
It is this commitment to making positive change that even saw The House of Honey recognised by the City of Swan’s ‘Excellence in Accessibility and Inclusion’ award in 2024. And the business refuses to stop here, knowing that even the smallest changes can make the biggest difference to those with added accessibility requirements. Let’s see what they can continue to achieve in 2025!
